Target Security Breach
On December 19th, Greg Steinhafel, Chief Executive Officer of Target, announced that 40 million debit and credit cards were compromised between November 27th and December 15th. Names, card numbers, expiration dates and CVV numbers were exposed or collected. The breach of Target’s security also affects the Target Red Card which is linked directly to the users credit union account. Pyramid Federal Credit Union’s systems were not impacted or breached and were in no way involved.
Pyramid FCU has received a list of cards affected by the data breach and we are working closely with our Visa representatives to limit any inconvenience to our members. If you’re card has been affected by the Target data breach, we will be mailing you a new card within the next two weeks. In the meantime, you can take the following steps to help protect your account.
Review you account frequently for out of the ordinary transactions and contact us immediately if a suspicious transaction appears. You will not be held liable for any fraudulent transactions. If you discover an issue during credit union off hours, please call the number on the back of your Visa Debit or Visa Credit Card.
If you have a Target Red Card, contact Target customer service to cancel or suspend transaction activity. Pyramid FCU is unable to assist you in regards to the Target Red Card.

Reminder: Save your PIN for the ATM and perhaps gas stations. Use Signature debit (swipe as credit or press cancel when asked for your PIN) when you make other purchases to get Visa's purchase protection!
